Upon the conclusion of the Three-Year Covenant, Ethan devoured his enemy Malakor, revealing the "Primordial Black Hole," and thus became the highest-priority target for elimination within the Divine Court. Through his journey—from fleeing persecution and hunting deities to actively invading the Divine Court—he gradually uncovered that the so-called selection process was actually a mechanism for harvesting superhuman abilities, and that the purported absolute order was built upon the countless lives stripped of their right to choose. Ultimately, he defeated the First Divine Envoy, Vortex, rejected Lord Azrael's temptation to wield power, and destroyed the Divine Court—yet he did not establish a second authoritarian regime; simultaneously, an ancient cosmic entity awakened as the "Primordial Black Hole" matured.
